4. I saw her at the Lilith Fair a few years ago

She totally rocked. I first saw her on the John Mellencamp video Wild Nights and liked her ever since.

5. I ran into her at the big jazz conference over the weekend.

Or rather, she ran smack into me as I was coming up an escalator. i sputtered: "You're Me'Shell NdegéOcello!!!! I am a huge fan!!" She nodded shyly. So I headed over to the label guys she's been working with (she produced an upcoming release by saxophonist Ron Blake) and begged them to give me a proper intro. They did, and we had a great conversation. She's really deep. By the end, we had exchanged e-mail addresses. I was goofy excited about it all day.
