Does anyone remember that Monty Python skit on types of humor?
Edited on Tue Sep-30-03 09:19 PM by gristy
It was about types of humor. The guys were arguing about what type of humor someone was using I think. Arguing between sarcasm, allegory?, other types. It was very funny. I do think the new GD rules will help the discourse over there, and I'm trying to think if an understanding of types of humor might help generate another one. What I'm getting at is that I think a skilled disruptor (or someone who doesn't really mean to disrupt but whose sarcasm does disrupt) could use sarcasm to get around the rules.

on edit: spelling

1. Was it a live skit??
Like at the Hollywood Bowl, where they tripped over banana peels and someone kept wacking their head on a board, I can't remember...I think it was Terry Gilliam??? Is that the skit you're talking about?? Graham Chapman was the "professor"??
