Someone here MUST use it ...

I just signed up today, and am trying to look around and get my bearings. Links just aren't loading, or, if they DO - they are painfully sloooooooooooow.

Is this normal? Did I just pay for something that will prove more irritating than theraputic?

Well -

I wasn't exactly asking to be your *friend* and have access to your innermost of thoughts - I'm just wondering if the site sucks, or if the problems I am experiencing trying to get around my space (all of the management functions) are a fluke due to heavy load, or WHAT?

Links won't load (again, management stuff), etc. Is it just me, or is everyone having trouble? Is this normal? That's all I want to know...

4. i use diaryland...same idea...

...so I can't comment on the speed problems. Diaryland was having some slow days for a while but they added a new server and now it is going very quickly.

Assuming livejournal gets up to speed again soon, I think you will be very happy with it.

I'm too shy to share my diary but I enjoy writing it very much.

5. Sometimes DU has bad days...

they usually get it back up to speed pretty quick.

I'm on there as darth_velma but I haven't been posting much lately. Been hanging out here instead. :-)

I hang out constantly here - but don't post often at ALL - only took 3.5 years to finally break 600 posts. Sheesh.

9. I have an LJ, I love it

It's a great way for me to communicate what is happening in my life, my thoughts on life, random amusing things, and the like, with my friends, who are scattered all across the globe and the Internet as well. Instead of posting something to three or four different message boards, and even then having some people miss it, I can just post a given thing in my LiveJournal and the people who are close to me can give it a read and maybe get a chuckle out of it.

There's nothing quite like getting a big vent off of my shoulders where I know I won't have any assholes jumping on my back and calling me all kinds of names because I'm venting about whatever.

I hope you find the LJ experience a worthwhile one. As Maggie has noted, sometimes you get server crappage, but since you're a paid user that should happen less to you than it does to the rest of us peons - paid users automatically get priority to the faster-running servers that LJ has.
