7. I wouldn't mind so much --
if they would mingle a few other songs into the mix -- "This Land Is Your Land" for starters.

I don't ge the hand over the heart like it was an anthem thing either.

9. I'm with you on that --
I don't remember seeing people do the hand over heart bit until recent years. It was a part of reciting the pledge of allegiance, but not a part of listening/singing the national anthem or any other "patriotic" song.

I find it overdramatic and showy, without a reasonably direct association to the moment of song honoring our nation.

But that's just me.
