Illinois Man Gets 4 Tickets On I-90 In 3 Hours

An Illinois man and his girlfriend managed to rack up nearly $1,400 in speeding tickets on a trip through Wisconsin -- all within three hours.

Piotr Pac, 21, of Prospect Heights was pulled over on Interstate 90 in Rock County New Year's Day. The State Patrol said he was going 100 mph.

About an hour later, he was stopped in Columbia County for going 84 mph.

Then, 30 minutes later he was clocked and ticketed for going 77 mph in Sauk County.

And finally, while Pac was napping and his 18-year-old girlfriend was at the wheel, she was stopped for going 108 mph on I-90 in Dane County.

The only speeding ticket I ever got was on I-94 right after crossing the state line from MN. If your vehicle has IL plates, it's doomed. IL cops have told me that WI cops even target *them* for speeding.

OTOH, for years WI cops have had to put up with drunk-ass flatlanders speeding back and forth on 90 and 94 every weekend.

OTOOH, Alpine Valley concertgoers get shaken down so bad that they would do better to stop in Kenosha and rent a car with WI plates than be seen exiting Alpine Valley with IL plates. That is some racket going on there.

It happens sometimes, esp. if you got a grandma or something going 55 in the left lane who refuses to move the fuck over.

I have encountered plenty of idiots - who are otherwise driving safe and sensibly - who think that the left lane is also a slow lane.

And I have to say, Wisconsinites STILL don't fucking understand how a 3 lane highway works. My absolute greatest point of frustration is that three-lane highway between madison and portage - slow shits in every lane; I often have to pass in the MIDDLE frickin' lane, and have, at times, been forced to go all the way to the right lane to pass a bunch of idiots.

And don't even get me started on the assholes who pass a car going X mph by going X+0.5 mph. I was behind a car a few months that, swear to God, took almost 8 minutes to pass a semi. Nothing in front of her slowing her down, nothing in front of the semi she was passing. But, dammit, she had her cruise control set and wasn't gonna change it.

I've encountered that so many sonsabitchin' times I can't stand it.

6. I got pulled over for speeding shortly after moving from IL to WI

I was doing about 10mph over the limit on route 14 going through Black Earth. I saw the police lights behind me but I didn't pull over right away. Finally I realized there was nobody else around so he must be signalling me.

First thing the officer says: "Why didn't you pull over as soon as I put my lights on?"

"Well, I didn't think you could possibly be signalling me. I'm from Illinois and I've never gotten pulled over for going just 10 miles over the limit" I said.

"You're from Illinois? That's not really going to be your line of argument, is it?" he asked.

"Um, no. I've never been through this area before and I didn't realize I was travelling over the speed limit" I said.

He warned me to slow down the next time I was coming through town, and did not write me the ticket!

would be charged a $15 toll, a $100 entry fee, and a $5000 deposit upon entering Wisconsin. In the summer, they won't get the deposit back, because you can be sure they've cost us that much in litter, accidents, police time, and destruction of wildlife.

And personally speaking, if I were in charge of the state patrol, I'd tell 'em to target FIBs as much as possible, and give the Wisconites a "bye", unless they're really doing something stupid.

Only reason I say it is that GB plays their home games on the extreme eastern side of the state, while the Vikings play within 30-45 minutes from the WI border. There's as much green and gold at the Metrodome as purple when the Packers come to town. Sooo, just to cheese off the western WI packer fans, I always say that we should play them on the extreme western side of Minnesota.

Besides, I have a bunch of family out there who probably wouldn't mind seeing a game without having to drive for 4-5 hours one way.

pretty good condition (comapred to other high speed roads). Now as to the matter of why they haven't been able to integrate the tollways into the other IL free road system is a whole 'nother story. One reason is they decided to extend the tollway a few years back all the way to Iowa which cost hundreds of millions. And it isn't that well-used once you get about 50 miles west of Chicago.

Seems to me that every state has its share of idjit drivers. Illinois hasn't cornered the market, nor has Wisconsin or Indiana or Iowa. I also think that there are a lot of nice folks in Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana--you just have to find them.

Frankly, I don't know how ANYBODY deals with life in a place dependent on tourist income. It has GOT to be miserable. Come on down to corn country and stay a few days! There's nothing to see or do but we'll show you that not all the folks in Illinois are FIBs!
