Poll question: Who Do You Spend More Time With -- Your DU Family or your REAL Family?

If you had to add up all the minutes you spend in the physical presence of your family each week and compare it to the number of minutes you spend online at DU each week, who gets more attention?

I see my family each day, but we're not always in the same room (except for dinner) and I'd say since I'm on DU at work and at home, I spend a lot more time with my DU family than with my real one.

So now that we've established this...can I borrow $10 ?

I only see my parents once a week for a couple of hours.

is where the majority of my time goes. I live alone and spend alternate weekends/saturdays mostly with my family. So, here I be most days.

Last night, my sons played air hockey, wife watched television and I logged onto DU and read some of the posts to my wife.

If by 'family' you mean my blood relatives, then I spend more time here. on the other hand, if you include my boyfriend in the definition, then I spend more time with him. :)

6. DU is usually just my time at the end of the day.

I occasionally pop in during the day, but mainly I'm on here a couple hours late at night while I'm writing other stuff or listening to music. I spend many, many hours a days with my offspring, so I'd have to say my real family gets a much bigger chunk.

I talk to them almost daily, but I don't see them but once every other year or so.

However, I don't consider an online community of strangers a "family," but understand why some people do-

I am one of those extremely fortunate people that have been lucky enough to have both a close family, and several very good lifelong friends; I try never to take them for granted.
