Poll question: Favorite James Bond Theme Song....
Other than the orchestral version and the most recent contemporary James Bond theme songs... which of these is your favorite.

I'm not trying to influence the vote... but my personal TOP FOUR favorites are listed in order below. What would be your alternate choices? Any that I didn't list?

15. Yes!
Sampled by Robbie Williams, if I'm not mistaken, in his hit 'Millennium.'

3. Where's "other"?
IMHO, the only song that comes up to "Nobody Does It Better" is "You Only Live Twice": silky, sensuous melody, which has been sampled several times, including in a current hit, great, ironic lyrics and Nancy Sinatra. What's not to like?
"Yooooouuuuuuuuu only live twice,
Or so it seems:
One life for yourself
And one for your dreams."

Sorry... it was impossible to list them all... and I chose to list a 10th instead of "other".

7. I hated the a-ha song from "The Living Daylights"
and I LIKE a-ha (so shoot me).

However, The Pretenders did another song for that film - I believe it played over the end credits - called "If There Was a Man". I think it is one of their most beautiful songs, and the best Bond song, and no one has even heard it.

14. Well I went with "Nobody Does it Better"
Edited on Wed Oct-01-03 11:51 AM by SiouxJ
"Makes me feel sad for the rest . . ."

And Carly did such an amazing job on it. I love Shirley Bassey's voice as well but Simon's phrasing on NDIB is just amazing.

I don't really associate "Live and Let Die" as a Bond song anymore. It was just a song on the radio to me but still a great pop rock song!

And I'll give a nod to Duran Duran as I think they did a great job of capturing the Bond feel (though I realize that probably had more to do with the producer). Still, I think they pulled it off and I remember at the time - when I heard they were doing a Bond theme - thinking OMG! I hope they don't fuck it up. And then, shocker of all shockers, they didn't. I still remember sitting in the theatre thinking, "wow nice job!"

Oh, and BTW, I love your new sig Arwalden! T&L Rock!
on edit: ok, so change it on me right when I compliment it. lol ;-)

19. I did too...
Although I don't really associate it much with Bond anymore. I just think of all the songs listed, it's the best crafted and best lyrics.
