i get my TV signal from DirectTV and for the last 6 months they've given us local channels for free to try to get us to sign up for them ...
the 6 months ended last night ... during the 6 months, we bought a new Toshiba TV ... i guess we never tested the TV signal coming in from our antenna without using the satellite box as a feed ...
VHF channels are coming in great ... when i tested the UHF (i.e. channels above channel 13) signal, i got nothing but snow on all the channels we normally receive ...
BUT, i found that for most, but not all of the channels, i can get good reception but not on the normal channel number ... for example, channel 25 is coming in on channel 76 ... channel 38 is coming in on channel 89 ... the difference is consistently 51 numbers higher than the actual channel number ... channels i should be getting above channel 38, for example channel 44, are nowhere to be found ... the TV goes up to channel 125 ...
what the hell is going on and how can i fix it ... i'm going to go look for the user manual now ... i'm also going to check a second TV we have to try to isolate the problem to the new Toshiba ...
any ideas ???
