Poll question: Which Sport Has The Most Exciting Playoffs?
For me, this question is no contest.

Even though it's regular season is a snooze-fest, the NHL has THE MOST exciting playoffs of any sport. Nearly every game is down-to-the-wire and there is no more exciting moment than overtime of a NHL playoff game.

A close second, IMO, is college basketball and the NCAA tournament.

But what say you?

1. College Basketball
mainly because there are 64 games and only 1 game that determines the winner or the looser. Sometimes the unexpected team can win the championship, but believe me, that unexpected team wouldn't win if there was a 5 or 7 game series.

2. I second that one; both men's and women's.
All this ridiculous 5 of 7 carp takes too long. It takes the drama away.

Just a way to make more money.

3. I agree
But I feel a 5 to 7 game series can best determine the winner, I know it would take too long for a 64 team tournament. But that is why I voted College Basketball as the most exciting post season, because of that drama. I can never pick the winner and the challenger in the final game in the Tournament pools because you just can't predict what will happen.

4. Basball is my fave, but

College Basketball is probably the most exciting, because it is a series of one game eliminations. However, byt he time you get to the Final Four, it almost seems anti-climactic, especially when every single Championship game as far as I can remember starts at 9:00 pm on the east for some reason. So basically I watch every game but the final one.

Baseball is my favorite sport, but I think we can all agree that the best championship game is the SuperBowl.

22. Here in the Boston area
we get to see a lot of Hockey East action (BU,BC etc) and it is extremely enjoyable hockey.I wish we got to see more than one game a week of the CCHA (Mighigan,Lake Superior State) because those games are always great too.

11. I'll grant the joys of the NHL postseason, but MLB is the ONE!
Nothing grabs me and holds me like MLB in October. The anticipation, the nailbiting games, the big at bat. There's just nothing like it.

I no longer bother much with the NBA, though. And, thus, it is a good thing that hockey coverage has picked up in recent years. The NFL is a good excuse to throw a party, but most of the party goers barely check in on the games, so...

16. Yeah those 0-0 ties and 1-0 scorefests are really exciting.
Sorry, but I tried to watch soccer but I was lulled to sleep ever time I watched.

Please excuse my sarcasm but I like to see points/runs, scored.

20. Actually, they are exciting.
Nevermind that such scores are the cliche of those who find bashing soccer a fun activity far more than they are the norm of the game.

For me, soccer has proven to be a great replacement for football, which has become drearily wearing with TV time-outs extending games far beyond what was every intended. At first, I didn't enjoy soccer on TV, though it was truly grand and far more exciting than football live. Now that I've spent a few years watching live games, I dig it on TV, too.

18. NFL
One game.

You win, you move on. You lose, you go home. Every game during the regular season means something. Every game in the playoffs means EVERYTHING.

3 weeks after the regular season, the championship teams are determined. None of this "What, they're still playing ?"

25. It's between MLB and the NBA
I voted for baseball because, while the NBA playoffs do tend to be exciting, upsets are much rarer in the NBA than they are in baseball.

I don't watch the NHL so I don't know how that compares.
