That was an excellent start. I am so looking forward to this program.

Enough with the jerky camera work though. It works, but that doesn't mean it's easy to get sick of.

I'm saying it now: Both the Boomers are Cylons. The real Boomer is either dead or a prisoner. There's gonna be some kind of rescue mission, and it's gonna pit the mechanic and the pilot against each other.

3. Are you sure there is a live Boomer?

Seems to me the Cylon on the Galatica is getting humanistic qualities. A sense of loyalty to the humans through comraderie.

Also, I think Hilo knows that the other Cylon is a fake. I think he put it together when they hugged; and that he only suspected it when she came back for him.

Also, is the doctor a Cylon or just a nutcase?

4. He's just a corrupted nutcase.

He thinks the female cylon talking to him is a chip in his head, but it's mostly his conscience, I guess. According to the preview show, the real cylon chick he was doing will be coming on board for real...

And I don't think there is a "real" Boomer.

Undoubtedly the cylons abducted a few real people to model their new prototypes after, but I doubt they are "duplicates of specific people - but of course the truth about that will undoubtedly unfold as the show moves along.

8. I love the camera work!

Especially in the space fight scenes, it gives it a very real atmosphere. Those 'long zoom' shots -- where they zoom in on a speck WAY far away to discover that it's a Cylon carrier ship -- are GREAT!

not every shot needs it. One of the little things that was cool about the original series was all the different ships in the fleet. There's nothing wrong with lingering on them, so we can enjoy the detail.

Farscape, completely BLEW the Riverworld concept...

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. It's about time they did something right.

My question is: Will some of the Cylon develop a "conscious" or are they Borg-like? I think that we will see some "good guy" Cylons by the end of season one.

The remake miniseries was A-. (became a B when, upon seeing Firefly a few months later, that somebody who made BG saw Firefly or at least worked in their fx department...)

The series, so far, is C+. The big hunt-for-water plot ended up as being as cheezy as your typical original BG storyline. The + goes to the quality put into the computer generated cylons in terms of melding them with the real footage but they're still CG, very anorexic to be taken so seriously, and they lack a menacing whooshy noise.

13. But the search for water was different B/C Boomer's internal conflict.

It was fascinating. He programming would not let her tell about the presence of water, and apparently was driving her to set off the bomb. The idea of being a semi person wanting to do the right thing, but being unable to be truthful or act as you want to due to programming was pretty interesting, IMO.

Definitely better than most of the Sci-Fi & fantasy I've seen the past few years. I like the dark feel of it so far. Olmos & McDonnell are two very good actors for a show on Sci-Fi. I like Baltar's mental conflicts, but still have to get used to it. I also like the Col. Tigh character as well. He seems right out of central casting for the XO role.

Isn't there an LPGA golfer named Grace Park as well? I'm not a fan of any sort of golf, but I thought I saw Park's pic in the sports section recently and thought it was a bit of a provocative shot for the sports section... so, it kind of stood out.
