Have you ever accidentally left an embarrassing phone message

I had to leave a message with a very famous actor's assistant about a screenplay that I had written. Suffice it to say that I was fine right up until the beeeep...then out of nowhere this incredible anxiety hit me and I forgot what I wanted to say... my mind just blanked. So I started talking and I realized I wasn't making sense, and I made a stupid joke about not making sense, so I thought well I'll just cancel out and re-record.
Right as I thought that, I said... oh my god this is a stupid message... thinking I was going to delete it and start over.
Well when I pressed the key that normally means delete....it said "thank you, your message has been sent." I was mortified. I had said my name and title of my screenplay, so it couldn't be written off as a prank. So THEN I tried calling back and explaining what had happened and mid explanation it cut me off and this time WITHOUT hitting a button it said..."thank you, your message has been sent" I don't even want to talk about the THIRD message.

So fucking humiliating. It was the kind of embarrassment that stays with you for a few days. Then I saw this actor's next two movies and I got over it.

Now tell me your worst. I wanna hear them!

1. I once got really super drunk and left the following message on

my best friend's answering machine (she played it for me the next day):

"Leslie, HI! HI! HI! (laughter) HI! Um, ok I jus wanna say that I love you and you are like the greatest person in the whole world and I don't care WHAT people say about your husband, I think it'll be ok in the end. I know they all thought you shouldn't have married him and you know all that shit about him giving you an STD and stuff but I think he's gonna work out ok so just DON'T listen to them, ok because I love you so much!"

Then there were the sounds of muffled crying. And a beep.

God. The really horrid part is she didn't KNOW people said she shouldn't have married him and she didn't know anyone else knew about the STD (I didn't tell, but her sister did).

She had to take some time to cool off from that message, as you can imagine.

3. I learned my lesson, though.

If you are drunk do NOT pick up the phone unless it's an emergency and you are dialing 911.

4. Drunk dialing is the worst! I had a couple of bad incidents

with an ex-boyfriend and the drunk dial. I would NEVER have called him sober....that kind of got me over that.

5. Breathalyzers on phones should be mandatory

Possibly on computers as well.....
