What a sweet surprise that was to be reading the Star Tribune and read your letter to the editor.

If you don't mind I'll share with all the other DU members:

We all knew that he would do it. It was only a matter of when.

The people of Minnesota owe Sen. Norm Coleman a collective sigh of gratitude for showing us that, upon the slimmest, flimsiest, reed of an excuse, he will shrug off the individuality he wore like an ill-fitting suit to rejoin the herd of the oil apoligists and Bush sycophants, abandoning his pledge to the people of Minnesota, and to the nation, to protect the bare, microscopic sliver of untrammeled wilderness left on this continent for this and future generations.

He pales in comparison to the giant of a man who preceded him in office.

For making it crystal clear to the people of Minnesota that his loyalties lie not with the people who elected him but with the power-brokers who made him, we are grateful.
