Personally, I think "Imagine" is an utterly dreadful song.

The lyrics are cliched and simplistic, the tune is hackneyed and it really isn't worthy of a talent like Lennon's. As far as that type of anthem goes, it has nothing on Bowie's "Heroes".

Guess Who's concert in Winnipeg three years ago by about a day and a half. 29. Maybe it sounds cliche to you because there have been about 95,000

hit songs written since then.
The fact it was written some 33 years ago and that it still resonates with so many is a sign that it is a song with lasting value, methinks. Its simplicity makes it universal, as well.
