and I think that is a more important thing to be concerned about. I just don't know very many people who haven't done what the Bush daughters are so severely criticized for; it happens. I haven't been smashed drunk in years, but if a camera had been pointed at me from 15-17 and 19-22, there would be few I wouldn't be so proud of. I don't think I am in the mimority there.

If they (or one of them) has a true problem with alcohol, which might be more likely for them since their father had a problem, I hope they get help. I quit from 17-19, not a drop- no problem. Drank again heavily until I was 22, then figured out that if I drank less than 3 drinks I didn't make a fool out of myself! Now I stick to that rule religiously. I refuse to cast a single stone at these women for this.

I will cast many stones for their political beliefs, however.

I also think it would be nice if we didn't call women skanks, sleazy, trashy, etc..., I don't remember this kind of venom directed at any sons or brothers of Presidents. I know they have been criticized, but not like this.

The Bush girls aren't that different behaviorally from a lot of girls I hung out with growing up at home or in college.

Any fair comparison would require that you compare them against the behavior of kids from other political families. Against that standard I imagine they don't rank all that differently regardless of whether the parentage is Republican and Democratic.

Gore's son has had his run-ins with the law ( more severe than the girl's underage drinking) and I don't see anyone really condemning him all that harshly.
