Who has seen the film "Equilbrium"?
Just viewed it tonight. Sort of brought to mind what could happen in the future if the Republicans remain in power.

1. I have
It was rather thought provoking. I would definitely fight their society. A big part of life is about feeling.

2. I saw it a few months ago.
I thought it was good. Although I didn't see much of a political theme.

3. It was political
The government was very Fascist. There was censorship, executions of dissentors, destruction of property, invasion of privacy, and forced control by drugs and threat of death. This was all suppose to be for people and society's own good. The leader, of course, owned forbidden materials. I see a political theme.

4. Total rip-off.
Endlessly derivative of Brave New World, 1984, Farenheit 451...

That said, I loved it because the fight scenes kicked the crap out of anything in the Matrix. Gun kata is damn brilliant.

And he's going to be Batman in the next movie, which I think is brilliant. Mr. American Psycho/Metatron Cleric will make a GREAT Bruce Wayne.

6. Interesting idea
horrible execution. Total matrix-ripoff.

Bad acting didn't help. It's a late night renter.

7. Awesome movie, but
what leads you to believe that this is the Republican future? Like 1984, this is any totalitarian future - one could make just as convincing an argument that this is what happens when extreme leftists take over. Just use drugs to keep everyone calm and nonviolent, create a technological elitist society, etc.

Movies (and books) like this rarely are about one side or the other, only what the outcome is.
