Sometimes you can't make this stuff up.

1. Yikes!

I'm 38 and I just went to the doctor's today because of chest pains. That's really scary.

BTW, my chest pains were because one of my lungs was inflamed from a virus and is rubbing against my rib cage when I breathe. Now I have to get a damn chest x-ray! :mad:

Last year, at 41, I had some chest pains. Nothing major - they came and went quickly, and didn't hurt so bad. Just something I noticed.

I coincidentally had an annual physical around that time. I mentioned it to my doc. He said it's probably nothing (I had fine blood pressure and cholesterol) but just to be safe, gave me a Holter Monitor to wear for a day.

6 days later I got a call from a cardiologist telling me to get to the hospital ASAP. I was just on my way out the door to a Rolling Stones concert. He said no. I said yes. He said I could drop dead any minute. Not wanting to bear the eternal shame of dying before Keith Richards, I went to the hospital.

Two days later I had two stents put in a coronary artery - I had a 90% blockage in one small stretch of artery due to a genetic condition.

I'm totally fine today. But I could've died. Thank goodness I had chest pain - the doc said most people with this condition don't have any.

Don't fool around with it, people!

I don't mess around.
