in c sharp minor; four against three but once your hands have it memorized you can scream through it. I personally like to play it slower and moody and eccentric ("rubato") - it's really an intellectual exercise and not a footrace.

Great learning tool.

I have a MIDI program (PowerTracks Pro) that displays the standard musical notation, and as the notes are played, they are colorchanged on the score. There is also a keyboard across the top of the screen that shows which keys are being played. I can slow the tempo waaaaay down, and loop sections to play repeatedly. The computer can play one hand, and let me play the other.

It will also print out sheet music in standard notation.

here is a screenshot of the program.




This is my setup. The piano is a Roland FP3.
It will slide under the top shelf for non music computer time.
This protects the keyboard, and opens up desk space for other activities.

http://www.classicalarchives.com /. They have live performances and midi files of most of the composers except those who still have active copyrights. It's a great resource when you are playing a piece and you haven't got the music to listen to. BTW Chopin is one of my favorites. Been working on the Barcarolle for a long time.
