Creation Scientists at Landover Baptist have opened up a formal
investigation into the Veggie Tales Corporation. "It's not just the
dancing green penis that we are concerned about," said Dr. Jonathan
Edwards, "The Veggie Tales corporation is watering down scripture and
promoting a lack of respect for the sanctity of God's Holy Word by
producing videos where a talking head of lettuce with a New York
accent skips through uncomfortable Bible passages in order to make a
story more appealing to children." Pastor Deacon Fred explained, "Now,
we're all for getting kids saved and indoctrinated, but some
Christian psychologists tell me that the children who watch these
videos believe that when they arrive at the Pearly Gates, they'll be
greeted by a talking tip of asparagus who will usher them into an
eternity run by a giant tomato and a thousand pieces of flying celery.
. . and then there's that dancing cucumber. If they made that
vegetable the devil, we might not be as concerned.

1. ROTFLMAO! You Gotta Be Kidding...

I've never seen it, but I thought Veggie Tales were supposed to be popular with Christians because they promote good, wholesome values (while maybe encouraging a good, wholesome diet)! I thought the idea was it would get kids interested in the bible so maybe when they grow older they'll read the real thing when they're ready to grasp it. But not being religious, maybe I'm missing something. Heck, doesn't Chik-Fil-A (still closes on Sunday for religious reasons) do promos with Veggie Tales?

Anyway, do we really want to be teaching 5 year olds what supposedly happened at Soddom and Gommorah? Or what happened to Jacob's daughter Dinah?

I have a shirt that says "UNSAVED" on the front, and on the back it says "LandoverBapti$t.com"

You'd be surprised how many people ask me where the church is, and if they really force their new members to wear the shirt.

9. The worst I have seen from Veggie Tales is

that for me, they fall on the wrong side of the Israeli/Palestinian issue by insisting God gave the land to his chosen people, and the bit about Pagans in their St. Patrick segment.

Other than that, I have found them to be very enjoyable. Not shmarmy and maudlin like your standard Christian fare.

very funny. The writers clearly are familiar with Monty Python, because they spoof them.
