Where is the best place to park near Wrigley field?

I am going to a music show at the Metro Friday and want to know if I should park on the street or use parking that is a block north of the field.

Only residents can park in most of the area after 6:00 pm, so the spaces left on the main streets fill up quick.

So you can't just cruise around the side streets looking for an empty spot.

I saw your subject line and figured you had a hot date tonight. At Auburn University in the mid-sixties, the most latex-strewn parking lot around was Bigelow's, the baseball field.

7. What about using the Chicago Transit Authority?

By using the Red Line or Brown Line?

I am coming into Chicago from the northwest and want to minimize parking and transportation costs. Time I have to spare.

You could always park in the Northwestern McCormick School of Engineering parking lot (after 6 or so, they don't care on Fridays), take the Brown or Purple line down to the city, hop on the Red, then get to Addison and there you are.

That's how a friend of mine and I did it once, going to the Blues Fest the summer of 2001.

10. Contact the CTA for lots, parking

My first impression would be to park at something around OHare, River Road, and then take the blue line el all the way to the Loop and then north on the red line. But you might get out pretty late, and I am not sure about night owl service.

8. There are a few lots nearby up and down Clark Street.

If you want to park not too far away, try near Belmont and Racine, which is about 5 blocks south of the Metro.

Most of the neighborhoods are permit parking only, but along Belmont, Racine and the the first 3 or 4 spots along the adjoining side streets it's OK. No permit needed.

If you don't feel like walking 5 blocks or so, you could cab it to Metro from there.

Seriously, try parking on Addison west of Clark Street, or on Belmont around Racine and then cab it.
