3. Always thought it was cooler in the north...
24 on the farm this morning. For southern Wisconsin that's a bit early, and it literally put frost on the pumpkins...

5. I got up this morning to discover snow...
I live in London, ON. This is *really* unseasonable -- usually we haven't even had a frost yet (and we hadn't). Most of the leaves are still green, and so is the grass.

Just like Environment Canada says, watch for a long, cold winter this year, and an unnaturally hot summer next year (just like Europe a year ago). This pattern (Europe, then North America, roughly a year apart) happens about 85% of the time. Gah. No thanks!

6. Have I got a deal for you!
Have I got a deal for you!

I'll trade you one North Texas summer for three NY winters.

I think I'm getting the better deal, but I'd bet it's free market value... ;)

11. I doubt you'd want to trade the entire region...just the weather.
I have small suburban yard (but I do have a pear tree!) three blocks from a HS.

So you probably don't want to trade regions w/ me, just the weather.

How I would love to see at least one serious snowfall around here this winter. To us, it's really big deal when we get even a hint of snow flurries and a half inch of snow would have the entire region shut down with people bringing out 10-year old tire chains (used only once, of course...). Mmmmm....snow.

"Are you near Austin?"
Not quite so lucky. I live in the D/FW area.

13 acres w/ trout stream and wilderness? Egads! You are one lucky, lucky person :)

10. Let it snow. Let it snow. Let it SNOW!
I love winter :-)

Don't ask why I moved to DC for school though, these weather wimps don't know how to handle a real winter.

12. Yeah!
I wait through this time of year for the snow to hit big!

...And it looks good today! Of course, I'm at 8K feet, and I have anxious sled dogs.

I loooove the snow! Almost as much as they do!

13. For what it's worth,
friends of mine with outdoor cats (I live near Kansas City) have been reporting the cats are putting on weight and getting thicker fur faster and earlier than in years.

My two kitties live indoors, so aren't weather indicators, other than the one who's afraid of thunder and lightning.
