Wow, it really was a missing person.

We went hiking on Sunday in a nearby state park, and saw lots of activity associated with a search. We thought it was an exercise, there were just so many dogs and searchers, boats and divers.

I have to hand it to the search and rescue people from my neck of the woods. They were all over the ridge, in the thick of the brush, on every single trail. We hiked for about 3 hours and there was a helicopter or plane over us the whole time.

Turns out it was not an exercise but a real search for a woman who disappeared the day before. I hope she turns up, but it doesn't look good.

My deepest sympathies to her family.
