noses, skin, etc. In my suburb every kid seems to get surgery for perfect teeth, noses, etc., when they are young so they don't have to endure teen years without being perfect.

if you're talking about the "whitenening" stuff... then yeah, ugh. But braces are usually needed to prevent pain later in life.

I only know a handful of kids (I'm 16) who have had any plastic surgery, (which again can have valid medical reasons), but I tend to stay away from them anyway (fake anything is ugly to me..)

"Ethnic" in this sense not meaning necessarily "racial", either....when you think about it, there's a sort of distinctive English or Irish or French or German "look" that you don't really see too much in people who AREN'T English, Irish, etc...

...but then again, BAR was quite a nice looking woman in her youth. Laura wasn't bad either, in fact, she still looks good for a woman of middling years.

And she's dealing with a MONKEY for a father, but she looks more like her uncle Jeb, who was the best looking of the sons. It's fortunate that kids often look like their uncles/aunts, and grandparents. At least she'll have a few years in the sun.

If I had to live with that bozo, in that horrifically disfunctional family, I'd be out drinking and partying too, strictly in self-defense.
