Just overheard the Right-wingers discussing this here at work. They were clueless as to why anyone in the White House would blow the cover of Wilson's wife. They just don't understand the vindictiveness of these guys. Totally clueless. Anyone else hearing discussions like this?

1. Many conservatives believe in the old-school sentiment |
|
that conservative statesman are by nature civil.
Once upon a time maybe. However, once the party was hijacked by Neo-Cons that went out the window mighty fast. The average R-winger don't get that Coulter, Rush et al are a bunch of hate-mongers. The also don't get that guys like Cheney and Rove get where they are because they are ruthless cutthroats who are not willing to take any prisoners when everything is said and done. These guys are mean as snakes and have no scruples. Some ingrained indoctrination doesn't allow your average conservative to grasp that concept. Perplexes me that is for sure.

2. Malfactors of great wealth |

The myth that, once upon a time, conservatives were civil and patriotic is just that -- a variant of the golden age myth. If you don't believe me, ask Helen Gahagan Douglas and Huey Long.
