Husband tried last year and couple times this year, could always get pilot lit but would it would never ignite.
Well for those of you that are not up to date on my "saga", he moved out on Jan 1 exactly one month after I put my 13 yo dog to sleep.
I was worried about the freezing rain and loosing power today so I decided to get down and dirty and check out the inner workings of the igniter. It was so obvious what was wrong the minute I looked in, the one wire coming from the direction of the wall where the switch is was not connected to anything. Duh!
I got out the booklet, looked at the wiring diagram, found out where that wire was supposed to go, and hooked it up. I then lit the pilot light (that scared me a little, I had visions of a big fire ball coming at me). I flipped the wall switch and Viola! I have me a nice little fire going. If I lose electricity I can sit by the fireplace to keep warm.
I can't wait to tell (ex?)husband I fixed it. I've about decided I don't need him around anyway.:P
