Need help on a decision... |
|
Next year I am going on a Cruise. This cruise is beig oranized by my Father for my mother's 60th birthday. Several couples of family and friends are going.
The only problem is that the cruise sets sail from the Miami area November 3rd, 2004. (The day after the election) I am planning on driving to my parents in south Florida on November 2nd. (I really don't know if I can afford a plane ticket at this time) If I do drive I have two choices:
1) Obtain an absentee ballot so I will be able to leave in the early morning.
2) Vote right when the polls open and then leave.
It is about a 15 - 16 hour drive. The difference bascially means I would get their in the evening probably around 8pm with voting with an absentee ballot or closer to 11 pm - midnight.
Any suggestions? Now I might consider getting plane ticket which would make this decision a non decision. I just don't know if I can afford the extra 500 - 600 for two plane tickets.
Thanks in advance.

That is my fear, that if they need to count the ballots, it may get lost etc...

might also have advance voting. A lot of them do. Typically they set up voting machines anywhere from 7 to 30 days before the election day, you go to the voting place, and vote exactly as if it were Nov 2nd itself.
I done that in more than one state. Check it out.

5. Try the Secretary of State's Office. |
|
Or, alternatively, your county's elections board.
