What's worse than a person with BO?

A person who BATHES in cologne. Ugh. Somebody just walked through cubeland, fumigating the entire office with her "scent". Now it's going to linger for hours.

8. Adding to the problem is when people use the same scent,

day after day, year after year. Their own noses become desensitized to it, so they use more and more. My FIL is like that. He used the telephone during a recent visit here, and the phone smelled like him for DAYS.

Scent is supposed to be subtle. One should have to draw very close to the person to be able to smell it.

Christmas. She uses all of it...every single day. My car now smells like "love spell". It is a nice smell, but did you ever notice how it has that "malty" beerlike odor? :hi:

11. Worse than BO....

As a subway riding NYer I could give you the whole heirarchy of what's worse than what.

From least to worst:
1 a person, usually female, who stands next to you and combs their own long hair with their fingers, pulling strands out and sort of dropping them
2 a person with BO
3 a person with too much nauseating cologne
4 a person with BOTH BO and cologne
5 a person with BO and the distinct smell of urine
6 (there are more, trust me you don't even want to think about the other possibilities)

hangs up his coat in the workplace closet so that every other item of clothing in the closet acquires the same nasty odor.

True story. It happened in a former workplace of mine some years back.

they try to hid the cigarette smell with colonge but they have lost their sense of smell due to the cigarettes.

and cologne is not BO, but almost as bad.

my great aunt lost her sense of smell after brain surgery and SHE could still put on just enough and not too much.

seems like way to many people don't know the rule: If you can smell your own cologne, you're wearing too much.
