Stop drinking juice and start drinking diet pepsi!
That's right, diet pepsi!

Saw this report off of compuserve - no link, just a report. :grr:

Should you just give up soda altogether and drink juice instead? Maybe not. The dental school faculty at South Africa's University of Stellenbosch did a comparison test on the effects of orange juice, apple juice, Pepsi Cola, and Diet Pepsi. (Although these researchers used Pepsi products, the differences between them and other popular brands of soda--for the purposes of this test on dental health--are not significant.) While fruit juices definitely provide more vitamins than soda, they are also acidic and that can cause demineralization and softening of the teeth. HealthScoutNews reports the results: Orange juice and Pepsi were equally harmful to teeth, followed next by apple juice. Diet Pepsi was not only the least likely drink to soften the teeth, but also the least likely to cause cavities.

They also say to wait 30-60 minutes after drinking any carbonated drink or juice as the acidic nature of these drinks can wear away the enamel.

Phew, makes me glad that I never brush. :eyes:

1. It works!
I drink on average a six pack of diet soda a day. I'm thirty years old and I've never had a cavity. Now I know why.

4. Green & black tea have been shown to protect you teeth as well.
And without all those scary chemicals.

5. One serious problem with diet soft drinks
is that something about the chemicals in them tend to leach calcium from bones. Especially women's bones. Any wonder there's a virtual epidemic of osteoporosis in women?

I gave up diet soft drinks about twenty years ago. Water, juice, coffee, beer, wine.

7. If you care about your weight, but want the flavor
Two choices:

- Put 10% good, sugarless-juice in with 90% water or club soda.
- Drink flavored sparkling water...berry or citrus flavored, 0 carbs, 0 sweetners. Talking Rain is one brand.
