Any DUers that are cardiologists? I have a question! |

My wife has the feeling that her heart is jumping out of her chest and feels like she has intermittent hypertension. She is feeling slight burning across the top of her chest as well.
All ECG and other tests came back negative.
I am thinking this is viral as I had similar symptoms a few months back. Any viruses out there that would cause something like this?

1. I'm not a cardiologist, but i play one on DU |
|
your wife obviously swallowed a frog, which found its way into her blood stream. I suggest she swallow a larger animal, perhaps a cat, to catch the frog and eat it.

Your wife needs to go to a doctor, not DU.

or find one that will talk with you. Seriously. It could be anything from heart disease to anxiety and we aren't medical personnel qualified to diagnose.
edit: If she's having problems now. She needs to be in the ER.

5. She really needs to see a Dr. I have a rapid, and sometimes misfiring |
|
heartbeat. I am on meds to control it. It's not super serious as long as one is under a dr's care. She really needs to have it checked out. My EKGs always comeback pretty normal as well. The heart is not something to play with. Good luck. Take her today.

6. While you are at the doctor with your wife |
|
Have her get a thyroid function test. Problems with thyroid can manifest as heart rhythm anomalies.

8. Good point. Sometimes people have "thyroid storms" that can cause |
|
the pounding symptom plus could lead to heart damage.

So I play a doctor on DU too (but I'm not one). Can you tell me what tests she has had?

DU, while a wonderful site, is not the place to obtain medical information.
Please see a doctor to have your concerns addressed.
Thank you.
