Greatest EP of all time?

For those of you who may be wondering, an EP is a short album, usually just five songs or six, about twenty minutes long. Most of the time, it's just a single with a few extra b-sides, but occasionally an EP can be a major statement.

For example, here's my list:

Still, there are songs on that EP (Permanent Daylight, Lewis, Lozenge of Love) that are as good as anything on The Bends.

20. EPs were very popular in Britain in the 60s.

The Beatles put out several, one of the most notable being Magical Mystery Tour, which was released as an LP here in the US (with extra tracks culled from previous singles) but as an EP in the UK.

I'm not saying that's the best, but I wanted to contribute to the conversation. :D

24. My picks for best EP's

"Oh No It's GBH Again" was a 1986 EP by a great and unjustly overlooked British punk band called G.B.H.

And does Fugazi's self-titled 1989 record count? It was originally an EP when it first came out on vinyl, but for the CD format it was combined with their next EP "Margin Walker" as a LP-length release called "13 Songs."

I always think of "FugazI" and "Margin Walker" as the same album, even though they were indeed two separate EPs.

I'm not really a big U2 fan, and this is probably my favorite release of theirs - the live version of "A Sort of Homecoming" is fantastic.

I also dig The Postal Service's EP "Such Great Heights," more for the Iron and Wine version of the title track and the Shins version of "We Will Become Silhouettes."
