Anyone ever heard of a Japanese Animated movie called Metamorphosis

I was reading a Fantastic Films or Animation magazine or some such which had articles on the Bakshi Lord of the Rings, The Black Cauldron and this Japanese film, which I believe was called Metamorphosis, though I seem to remember they spelled the world creatively.

It was a semi-Greek mythology inspired deal. I don't know much more than that, but the animation looked really interesting. I haven't been able to track down much information about it.

Any clues???

I don't watch much anime, but I rented it for my sis, and I CRIED!! Metropolis was very good.

one I am thinking of it is kinda like "Fantasia" but I am not sure. It has been a while since I saw it, lots of music, animated. That sound right?

That sounds like it. I seem to remember there were comparisons made to Fantasia in the article, as well as a lack of dialogue.

Looked like an interesting film, and would probably be an indication of early Japanese Animation, perhaps before it developed its now very distinct style...
