"Gladys' Chicken and Waffles.

Plus, Church's has gotten into the act.

I just saw a commerical -- they've added it to their menu.

19. Location # 2 - Pasadena,
ummmm, what's the address? It's, like, on north Lake. You take the Lake St exit off the 210, go north towards the mountains, and it's, ummmm north of Orange Grove, maybe north of Mountain - but south of Washington. Right-hand side as you go north. Right after the KFC joint which is right after a Carl's Jr.

8. I dunno
We do a savory waffle thing pretty regularly - sort of an evolution of a recipe we saw in Food&Wine way back, thyme and shallots in the mix.

Chicken? Hey, why not. Waffles: they're not just for breakfast anymore.

When waffles are outlawed, only outlaws will have waffles.

20. Oh, come on
Blueberry chicken. LOL.

This is an old Pennsylvania Dutch recipe that has had some modificatins along the way. Here is a recipe for the gravy version.

http://www.home.eznet.net/~stevemd/chickcom.html#a

Although I have to say that this was more like a Monday meal after Sunday roast chicken. At our house, it was hot open faced, sliced chicken sandwiches warmed in the gravy.

On Tuesday, any chicken left over (or turkey for that matter) was served with a tasty white sauce with peas added for color. This was the version we served over (unsweetened) dinner style waffles. Biscuits are a nice alternative.

Anyway, I included the link because it had a nice recipe for waffles.

I'm also getting very hungry for some old fashioned comfort food.

30. Classic Bavarian, Austrian, Czech cuisine
Here's a potato salad recipe using marinated herring--a real favorite in that area of the world.

http://www.rest2000.cz/cuisine_e/coldd3_e.html

I haven't worked up the nerve to look at the carp salad.

Actually, you wouldn't think twice about ordering a brat with kraut on a bun with a side of potato salad. All a matter of what you're used to.

I remember as a kid we went to CA and they didn't have it anywhere...I think it's the best kind of pizza and it appear as though they didn't make it in the US. SO we had to have it made special everywhere. I've heard you get the weirdest look in the Eastern US if you ask for that

34. When I was stationed in Germany
I had my first pineapple pizza.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.................. :9

I also developed a taste for garlic butter snails.

Now I can't bear to look at one -- I had an infestation in my garden of slugs. The stuff I used to kill them melted them. I get sick now every time I think about eating them.

I love the combination of pineapple, green olives and sweet onions. It's so good.

I also like Indian or Chinese food that combines fresh pineapple and chicken. It's delicious!

I saw (but did not eat) a pizza with corn and mayonaisse. Also ate a pizza that had a variety of fish-type things, and if I recall, tentacles.

Luckily, the restaurant had beer.
