3. This is so awful...
I can't imagine what Leesa is going through, nevermind the boy's parents, siblings and relatives. This is beyond tragic. My god, what a senseless, evil war. How could this country do this to their children/fathers/brothers/sisters/daughters? Why were there only a few of us (compared to the general population) in the streets in the months before this war? There are going to be so many physically and emotionally crippled people coming out of this. I don't know what else to say...

4. Thanks for bringing this back up.
How horribly sad.

For many, this war will never end.

Prayers, hugs, warm thoughts to all.

5. Thanks for the heads-up on this. It's so sad, yet I was SO angry.
These thugs should be tried for war crimes.

6. Prayers to this family
Is this war worth it? Just ask these poor people who have had their lives destroyed. My heart is with them and I will pray for their comfort.

and he came back, but was never the same.

8. PTSD is a very perplexing and jello-like set of symptoms
It can come and go, or come and stay. Two people will not have the same reactions to a traumatic event, either now, or years from now. For many, WWII is still a millstone. Certainly Korea is for lots. Vietnam, well, that speaks for itself. Gulf War, ditto. And now this shit, which I predict will eclipse all others.
But there are many manisfestations in the civilian sector as well. Many Police, EMS and Fire workers walk around in a constant state of PTSD. Especially here in NYC.

It is bad shit to swallow, and lots of it, and lots of times there does not seem like a way out, except through the bottom of a bottle, a needle, or the barrel of a gun.

Been there, done that.

Wish I had not.

Condolences and best wishes to his surviving family and friends.
