what is the best product to remove pet odors?

10. I had heard this, but does it remove the scent for the dog?

We recently had new carpet installed and if the dog, sweetest thing on the planet, mind you, decides to pee on the second floor, ugh. I bought a carpet cleaner just for the two square yards she seems to favor, but she still seems to be able to 'smell' the urine.

It is driving us crazy, because the new carpet was far from free.

Would love a scent free solution to this.

16. Truthfully, I have no idea. I've only ever used it for little kid

accidents and they don't typically mark their territory...at least not that I know of. But, I do know that it does get rid of the smell...it seems some pet owners have posted about Nature's Miracle which might be what you are more in the market for....

I discovered this before my cat was neutered--

Nature's Miracle is good but rubbing alcohol is cheaper.

Put the alcohol in a spray bottle and spray the offending area (after you have scrubbed up the dreaded mess of course)

No it's not. It contains isopropyl alcohol as the second ingredient (probably to facilitate evaporation) but the active and largest ingredient is enzymes that actually break up the organic molecules.

It's been a while since I went through this maybe I am confused.

On edit: I am screwed up because I used used to use both per the below that I just googled (The enzyme cleaner I use was nauture's miracle)

Cat urine has fat in it. After blotting, soak the area with rubbing alcohol to break down the fat in the urine, then wash with an enzyme cleaner. This really works! AND the cat will not go back to the same spot.

3. A product called "Out!"

Not to be confused with "Oust" the airspray thing.

I had a cat that peed on stuff, and if this worked on cat urine, it is bound to work on dog pee odor. I found it highly superior to "Nature's Miracle."

There's a bunch of special Arm'n'Hammer specialty pet products. We use one as a kitty litter additive, another one as a carpet spray.

You can get them at any pet store or even grocery stores. They have pheromones in them to attract puppies so they'll go there instead of your carpeting. They even work for cats - late in his life Ferg stopped using the litterbox, and he'd go on those.
