My sister-in-law's dad died yesterday after a prolonged and very painful fight with cancer. It had reached the point where death was a blessing and he had made it clear he was ready to go. The end was very peaceful.
No one from the home hospice care was at the house when he died, but they arrived within an hour of being notified because the law requires that all the narcotics be removed immediately.
My sister-in-law tells me that, after the woman left, she and her siblings stood quietly for a moment when her brother said "Are we sure she was from the hospice and not one of Limbaugh's people?" She said it was the first time she'd laughed in two days. We had a good laugh when she told me this too.
