He was a writer and singer of smarmy country-flavored pop ballads during the first half of the 1970s. If you've never heard a Mac Davis record, I envy you!

even though it's dated, it's STILL the greatest movie about pro football ("All the right moves" is the greatest high school football film)

Davis' character was actually based on Dandy Don Meredith
