I'm avoiding unnecessary carbs again. Bought my first bag of pork rinds in a long time.
What do DUers think of pork rinds? Me, I don't know; I just sit here with a wrinkled brow.

1. Don't eat pork in any form |
|
But I've heard those are a fantastic low-carb snack. Of course, Poppy Bush loves them. But then, I love Cheetos, and so does Bunnypants.

2. I don't think they were serious about porkrinds back during broccoligate |
|
I think it was just a joke and that they chose porkrinds as the extra-unhealthy anti-broccoli

They're great if you're trying to avoid carbs, but try not to eat them everyday if you don't want to clog your arteries.

6. Some pork rinds are better than others. |
|
if your grocery store has a good selection of Mexican foods, you can find the better quality pork rinds there. Not to mention some hot sauce to put on em. I don't like the commercial Frito-Lay type verions "Bak-em's" or whatever they're called, because they are loaded with MSG.

8. only the microwave ones |
|
They are good when they are freshly popped.
I don't care for the precooked ones.

9. Can you do that with fresh rinds? |
|
Or is it something else? Recipes available?
Probably turning in soon, so thanks in advance for any info!

11. I am sure you can but I never have |
|
so I don't have a recipe.
I buy the Randolph Foods brand called Baken Snaps. They come in individual bags just like the microwave popcorn. In fact they are in the grocery aisle with the microwave popcorn.
I tried the Lowery's brand once & didn't like them as much.

Interestingly, I've never even eaten a pork rind. I find the thought revolting. However, the name is kind of catchy. :)
