Wife of 'Brady Bunch' Star Seeks Divorce

LOS ANGELES - The wife of former "The Brady Bunch" kid Barry Williams has filed for divorce, according to court papers.

Barry, 50, who played Greg Brady on the series, married Ella Mary Matt Williams in 1999. The couple formally separated earlier this month and have a 2-year-old son, according to the divorce petition filed Tuesday in Superior Court.

Ella Williams requested sole custody and asked that her husband have visits only with a nanny present, according to the petition.

It will be his second divorce. Williams was married to Diane Martin from 1990 to 1992.

5. why ask that his visits be supervised?

well, of course, there may be some form of abuse going on that she wants to prevent.

then again, there may be money that she wants, and insinuating abuse is an easy way to gain leverage in divorce negotiations and proceedings. it is, alas, a common tactic.

it's up to the judge to try to sort out the mess, though often things get settled, in part out of fear for what the judge might do.

short of a conviction or a film leaked to the internet, we're likely never to know. unfortunately, it's very hard for the rest of us to know what's really in the child's best interests.

8. I was at a party with him this summer

I found myself sitting on a couch across the way from Mr. Williams who was sitting with a certain (I'll leave him nameless) celebrity chef. (Oh what the hell - it was Rocco DiSpirito). Anyway, they were sucking down very large (and very potent, judging by the smell) joints. One right after another. They probably had about 4 between the two of them in the time that I had 2 gin and tonics and 1 cigarette.

I have a feeling that this may have something to do with the supervised visits.
