As it is, I am a not-wealthy collector of not-so-rare, semi-expensive things. People might not understand why I'd pay good money for an old radio.

I'm guessing someone who can afford 2.8 million for a collector's car doesn't have to worry about being a wage slave either.

and an investment. And, I'm sure, a shitload of ego gratification - but that's what all collecting of things is about.

That V12 you posted isn't worth 2.5 million. It won't be worth 3.5 million in ten years.

What's it matter whether the dude invests 2.5 million in a car, or invests 2.5 million in stocks? Or Bonds? Or artwork? Or faberge eggs?
