I didn't get my license until I was living in Austin and you don't get a lot of ice/snow driving there. But Chicago gave me plenty of that, which was a nice preparation for the time I spent in DC. 189. Ah, the fun one was when I was working in Austin and found

out one Christmas that I'd be spending the rest of the winter in Chicago. Nothing like being dumped into the middle of a winter when you haven't experienced one in years. But that was fun in another way: when I first went up there, I was getting over a bad cold and had laryngitis for the first 10 days. I could barely make myself understood above a whisper and rarely spoke, so people formed a certain impression of my personality. And then my voice came back and I watched with amusement as hasty reassessments took place. :D

Dobson, of a group called “Focus On The Family,” told a largely congressional audience of his complaint about a video and accompanying teaching materials sent to 6,000 elementary schools by referring to its distributors as a “pro-homosexual” group. Dobson invoked SpongeBob SquarePants as the centerpiece of the video, raising the specter of the laughably infamous “Tinky-Winky” controversy of the ‘90s.
Before we first did the story on "Countdown," we contacted his group and asked for a comment and a clarification of the implication that SpongeBob was being used as part of a “pro-homosexual” effort. Dobson’s spokesperson made no effort to alter the impression, and made no complaint about our story as we outlined it to him.
Then, of course, the Krabby Patties hit the fan. . .
