Help me get the chewing gum out of the carpet. |
|
Someome seems to have brought in a glob of chewing gum on their shoes and planted it into the lovely and very plush carpeting in the dining room. I've used ice before but it seems to be too thick for this to be effective. Don't wanna try peanut butter cos that just seems like it would compound the problem. Incidentally, doing a google search will open a whole new world of mass marketed chewing gum removal products. Who knew! :D
Any ideas?

1. I thought freeze and cut out were the answers. |
|
Or cut out the offending rug bit and plug in a new piece if you have it.
Or the bachelor way: stick a piece of furniture on top of it.

6. This stuff works very well. |
|
It freezes on contact and you just pull the stuff out, bit by bit.
It does the most complete job, but it takes longer than others.

5. Goo Gone or Goo-Be-Gone |

available in hardware stores and most grocery stores works great! It's some kind of orange extract, but I've had great success using it on these kinds of 'little disasters' over the years.
