Poll question: Does your company offer same-sex benefits? (aka Domestic Partners) |
|
Just curious to see if more companies out there are taking the initiative to offer same sex/domestic partner benefist. I work for a major bank (which recently merged with another major bank) and yes, both companies have policies that allow you to include a domestic partner in your benefits. It's just a small step but it's in the right direction. Of course I have no partners except 2 cats, but it's nice to know my company is on the right path.
So does your business/company provide same-sex/domestic partner benefits?

2. yes -- but it takes red tape |
|
Because we have no marriage license, we had to complete some forms and have them notarized before the firm would extend my health benefits to include Mrs. V. :eyes:
Hi, LynneSin! Good to see you. :hi:

I'm sure most companies, even mine, want to ensure there is an actually relationship and someone isn't just putting their best buddy who works at the local Video store on there as part of a scam.
Which of course would be really handy if we had gay marriage so we could prove that these relationships are real instead of the informal notorization & red tape stuff

6. That's my point exactly -- equality eradicates red tape -- not to mention |
|
a whole helluva lot more civil & cultural ills.

4. I wish I could get health insurance myself. |
|
Sure, my company would pay for it... if I could get it. But I can't because the insurance industry blows.

10. My former company had benefits for "domestic partners" |
|
I'll never forget my assistant asking me "Does this mean that my boyfriend can be on my policy?" I replied "Sure! You're girlfriend can be on it too!"
She gave me a blank stare for a moment and then said "Oh.... OH!....That would rock if I had a girlfriend!"
