Napoleon Dynamite - Why is it So Funny?

ON EDIT: Every time I watch it I pick up on stuff I missed. Didn't know about the final FINAL scene til I let the credits roll yesterday.

My husband and my twins (boy/girl-21 yrs. old) text message each other lines from the movie. (we do this with favorites...like The Big Lebowski). When my sister was visiting over Christmas, my husband said to me: "Are you drinking 2% milk 'cause you think you're fat? "Cause you're not! You could drink whole milk! My sister thought he was just too sweet. She kept mentioning how sweet she thought he was....I couldn't make her realize he was quoting Napoleon Dynamite.
