I've got Windows XP Home Edition and Service Pack 2.

That will record firewall activity. In control panel open the windows firewall. At the advanced tab, select enable logfile.

If you only have the built in XP Firewall its not really blocking anyone its letting in who ever MS wants it to .. disable it and get Zonealarm or Sygate they both have free versions for d/l.
