Is there a way to prevent a dog from

farting? I sleep on my left side, my dog always curls up to me on that side with her butt facing me, but she farts all night. So I turn on my right side, I can't sleep. If I put her on the floor she bark all night. I've tried covering her butt with a towel but the smell still gags me. If I try the clothespin method I can't breath.

15. Age can be a factor. Does she still drink lots of water?

The yogurt may be a help with an older dog (if it can take milk products) as it can replace some of the flora and fauna the gut needs.

Might wanna look into the ratio of corn in her feed. Think about lamb/rice based chow for a bit to see if she digests it better.

A bit of oil added might help her pass things through easier too.

Also, if your dog is a Golden, you might wanna make sure they are not having pizza delivered when you are away from home. Yes, they are THAT clever! ;)

btw, hope is getting a little gassy in her old age... I would suggest the raised food dish - but she is so enthusiastic about licking her dish clean after eating - that she would knock the dish off of any platform. :shrug:

yogurt if she has never shown any lactose intolerance. Is she getting enough exercise? Is she pregnant?

If you are feeding a certain brand that starts with the letters AL, stop feeding it to her. Never saw a dog yet who could eat that stuff without becoming a device for peeling paint.

We had one who was, well really bad, the vet said to soak the food in warm water and sure enough it cut it down considerably. Not altogether but it was bearable.
