Who has more acting talent of these?

Poll question: Who has more acting talent of these?

This is just to satisfy my own interest about a couple of actors who are about the same age, and who, near the beginning of their film careers, might have been up for similar roles. I don't want to take into context their non-acting skills, because some of these people have been luckier in directing their own careers. Basing the choice strictly on their ability to morph into a character, please tell me what you think.

That were gonna list ten shitty actors, so I was waiting to see "Tom Cruise" and "Sylvester Stallone" and etc.

But then I saw you didn't have any other POS actors in the list, so I had to take it seriously.

Macy for me, though it was a somewhat tough choice.

Actually, I think all of these actors have a very powerful niche of their own, but I always wonder why Tom Hanks got certain roles in the beginning of his career (before his bigger roles came) instead of someone like Michael Keaton, who has a great deal of talent as well, but he hasn't ever really had the same kind of break as Hanks got. I know, for example, that Keaton has a penchant for sometimes being difficult (a fact I know from personal experience and other actors telling me), and I wonder if that was a factor in keeping him from having those roles which would have made him an even bigger star. You can't tell me that Hanks's films, like Joe vs. the Volcano, Turner and Hooch, Money Pit and other such fare could not have been done by some other actor.

Although I think Billy Bob Thornton, Robin Williams, and Tom Hanks are supurb actors, William H. Macy is the best of them. I wonder if he will ever get an oscar. That special he did called "Door to Door" was just great, and I loved him in Fargo.

already, I was keeping it to a specific age group. Out of the few you mentioned, only Liam Neeson would have qualified--the others are all too young.

The selections I made were all born in the 50s--from 1951 to 1956.

5. I was going to put Murray on the list

but I was keeping the age group very specific. He's actually a couple of years older so I didn't include him. I will agree--he's great in a lot of his parts, regardless of whether he's doing comedy or drama. You're talking to someone who went to see him in "The Razor's Edge" when it was in theaters.

9. John Malkovich.

He plays a terrific sociopath in LINE OF FIRE and is unusually good playing, well, John Malkovich in BEING JOHN MALKOVICH.

In U.S. film history, I'd have to put Dustin Hoffman's character in MIDNIGHT COWBOY at or near the top of the heap.

William H Macy is a phenomenal actor and the best of the listed ones.
Billy Bob Thornton is a very good actor and writer. Just keep him away from the recording studio.
Malkovich has been coasting for a long time. Pity.

but then I realized he hasn't done a really good movie since Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade which was 1989!

In fact the last few were terrible!
