Does anyone remember the show DARK SHADOWS?

I used to love that show! Last year they used to play it on SciFi in the mornings & I would watch as I got ready for work. Then they stopped playing it. :wtf:



Back in the late 70's early 80's they used to play it on one of the UHF channels in the afternoons & I would watch it with my aunt. She apparently watched it with her mom growing up. It was super cheesy but still a great show.

I have been waiting a long time for its DVD release

I would often cut 4th period in order to see "MH, MH" because sometimes I could not wait until Friday nights at 1AM when they would rerun all 5 of that week's episodes :)

religiously. It was at that time My Absolutely Favorite Show!

One day I was in Manhattan and wearing a long grey cape, and I saw Jonathan Frid. He looked at my cape and smiled at me!:)

yup I used to watch reruns on sci fi too. I found a box of cheesy dark shadows paperbacks my mother had in the basement that I read growing up.

it was sooo cheesy and the acting was TERRIBLE but it was great to watch anyway! It was like watching an ed wood show!

I was wondering if the sci fi channel was still showing the reruns. I guess not. :(

34. A friend of mine lent me the tapes

I stayed up until it was light out, just watching one more episode. I'm sure that you can also rent them, plus there were two TV movies made from the series. This is truly a classic and also my guilty pleasure.:-)

14. I remember it got very confusing near the end

They were switching between different eras and the same cast played different roles in each. I think the series died for me when that artist guy discovered he could make anything appear just by drawing it. That was too "I Dream of Jeannie" for me and I bailed. Regardless, in the early days I thought it was the coolest show on TV.

Even turned my wife onto it a few years ago!

One of the local UHF stations used to rerun it when I was a kid and I never missed an episode. My grandmother described it as "foolish" once and I made a point from then on of saying, "I"m going to watch my foolish show now" when it came on. :evilgrin:

My class ring had a black stoen and I had it fitted to my index finger to be like Barnabas!

31. I have a couple of Dark Shadows sets on DVD...it got to be

too expensive to continue buying them so I quit.

I LOVED Dark Shadows when I was a kid. I recall zooming home from kindergarten so I could watch Barnabas Collins. My younger brother and I would wear towels around our necks, he would act like he was Underdog and I would act like I was Barnabas Collins.
