A 26-year-old Bismarck man who had his car stolen three times in six days just got it back again.
The dark purple Ford Contour first went missing Jan. 20, Bismarck Police Lt. Mike Wardzinski said. The car was found and towed back to the man's house in the 200 block of West Sweet Avenue early Tuesday, only to disappear a few hours later.
The victim hadn't even called police when the car was returned again about four hours later. He did pick up the telephone Wednesday at about 7:30 a.m. when he went out to find his car missing for the third time. Police found the car again Thursday afternoon.
The Contour was reportedly stolen from the driveway of the Sweet Avenue house all three times, Wardzinski said. There were no keys inside the car and the doors were locked. The owner told police it didn't appear as if anyone had forced their way into the car.
Police have no suspects, and are investigating the case. Wardzinski said it appears like someone else has a set of keys to the Contour.
The thefts will likely stop now, Wardzinski said. One of the car's wheel assemblies was damaged in the most recent theft.
