Danny came home from school and asked how I was. I said "Tired, Dan, can you make me a pot of coffee?" He said sure. I watch you do it all the time- how much coffee and how much water?" So I told him. And he did- he brewed up a perfect pot of coffee! I knew there was a reason I had kids!

A child who is happy to do something to make their parents happy was well-treated as he was growing up. What a cutie!

that's a lot of dirty diapers, expense and pain for a pot of coffee. I'd rather go to starbucks :D
Anyway, congrats. It's nice when the little buggers become useful.

Granted I had just turned 20 at the time. She used to tend bar for years, so whenever I visit she can make a damn fine drink out of any available liquor...thats her McGuyver like talent, something that she is passing down to me!

My daughter is four so I still have 6 more years to go. :( She helps me clean around the house though...I don't even ask her for help. Yesterday she had a friend over and they asked if they could mop the kitchen floor. Why stop them, right? Besides, it's not like she's going to ask these things when she's 14 so I might as well enjoy it while I can.

and help clean up ( sometimes). That is really cool. Maybe I should train mine to do that. He'll be nine soon. :)
Actually seeing their independence and development into cool people makes the aggravation worthwhile. I still remember how excited I was when my son opened the car door alone for the first time!

He even knows the difference between light and dark. The other day he came running out with a Bass and said, "Here's your Bass, Mom!" I guess he recognized the triangle.

|
He asks now- depending on what we're eating. His favorite though is bringing up a can of Guinness because it has this ball in the can and he likes to shake it after it is emptied! This is the first time he's made a pot of coffee though!
He is a great kid- funny, smart, cute and boy does he hate Bush! He really does make me smile!
