This is a novelty thread meant to turn the gears in the minds of some of the more interesting posters of the DU. Pure bullshit, but intriguing.

The following is as preposterous as they come, but hear me out, because I have fashioned a hoax that would dwarf the War of the Worlds presentation. Imagine this: a fabricated incident that would force the news networks to cut into the Super Bowl broadcast. This plot would be of such magnitude (but NOT involving harm inflicted on anyone) that it would have to be immediately reported; likewise, the Super Bowl would be interrupted 2 minutes INTO the game. In effect, you would drive every football fan in America, whether they be devoted or casual, to hysteria. The myriad of ways in which the word "fuck" would be employed would alone be worth it.

Does anyone else lay awake at night and formulate ways to piss as many people off as possible?

Actually, anyone who really understands this country would invade during a Super Bowl, especially if the Redskins are playing.

Someone wrote a science-fiction novel in the mid-1950's about a nuclear attack on the U.S. happening on Thanksgiving Day, which would be the other perfect day to attack.
