I'm 5'8", and I definitely have been made to feel that I'm at a disadvantage. If a girl is my height or taller, I can understand where they're coming from. But I don't see what their excuse is when they are 5'7" or shorter. (ie. the typical female)

In statistics, it's called "regression towards the mean." People who are above or below average in things like height, intelligence, etc. are more likely to have offspring that are closer to either the mean or the other side of the mean.

Sorta like when someone in baseball has a mediocre career, then suddenly has a really great year, it's more than likely the next year will be more like his other years.

I dated a lot of tall guys in my younger years and honestly it's something I think is an attractive thing (Why? Who knows?), but married someone your height (and even spawned some rather shortish male children with him). We're divorcing, but height is not even close to the reason. He's an attractive guy physically. I wouldn't base a relationship on that.

Same thing with men. Men might be attracted to certain features on women as well. Nothing wrong with the attraction if the core of their relationship is based on reasons beyond that of the external stuff. That stuff is merely a bonus.

I'm a tall woman, and sometimes I felt as though some men who were the same height or shorter than I were uncomfortable around me. Some have the notion that the woman must be shorter. My ex was shorter, though, and that was never an issue. I think some people are just more superficial than others no matter the gender.

I'm over 5'7 by a bit, and I mostly wear shoes with at least an inch heel. My concern would be that you would be concerned, but other than that I don't care.
